ENCOUNTER THE POCONOS 2004 View the Encounter 2004 Schedule(PDF Format). EARLY REGISTRATION DEADLINE Remember the deadline for the early registration fee of $60.00 is June 1. The registration fee will be $80.00 after that date. Also be sure to call Pocono Manor and make your room reservations by June 10 to guarantee room availability. Our room block is limited, and the resort sells out rapidly in summer. Rates depend on the number of people in the room. These rates are an incredible value, since they include greens fees, a hot and cold breakfast buffet (a $10 per person value), and all taxes and service fees. INDOOR PARKING We are offering secure parking in the indoor tennis court building for a limited number of Healey’s. The $20 charge payable on the registration form will reserve a spot for the duration of the event. ADVANCE SHIRT SALES We are offering advance sales of our 2004 Encounter collared golf-style shirts for $25. The shirt features an embroidered logo on the front left pocket area of the shirt. Order one or more shirts on the registration form, but to guarantee delivery with your registration packet you must have your order in before July 15. Shirt prices at the event will be $30, with limited availability. PLANS INCLUDE: POCONO RACEWAY Wednesday afternoon we will be going to Pocono Raceway. The Stockcar Racing Experience (www.877stockcar.com) will be on the track all day, offering 3-lap rides or 20-mile drives. Call them and say you’re part of AHSTC for a special offer. We get our turn on the track after they’re done for the day (weather permitting). We will be taking a minimum of 3 parade laps on the racetrack. There will be a safety inspection before you can take your car on the track. There is a fee of $20 per car to participate in the laps. All sportscars are welcome, please no SUVs or Minivans. WELCOME RECEPTION We’ll get together Thursday evening for a welcome reception. Come out and join us for an evening with old and new friends. What a better place to talk about your Healey. COUNTRY-WESTERN COOKOUT Friday there will be a pre-paid Country and Western Cookout on the grounds. The cookout includes BBQ Chicken and Ribs, BBQ Baked Beans, and Corn on the Cob. Following the cookout we will have an awards presentation for the events held that day, followed by something fun. WE ARE ALSO PLANNING THE TRADITIONAL EVENTS : Road Rallye - A rallye through the beautiful poconos. Gymkhana - The traditional feature to put your car to the test. Funkhana - A challenge for both driver and navigator., but fun. Popular Car Show - A car show open to all Healeys including modified, special interest, and diamond in the rough. Concour - This event will run concurrently with the popular car show. All participants must register through the National Concour Registry for their concour packet, in addition to registering for ENCOUNTER. Photo, Model, and Handicraft - All items must be Healey related, must have been made by you, and not have been entered previously. Regalia - Shop here for Healey related items. Please indicate on your registration form if you plan on bringing items. Chinese Auction - Buy your tickets early on the registration form and save money. Hospitality Room - A comfortable place to gather for a cold drink, munchies, with good friends. Awards Banquet - Join us to congratulate the winners. |
